Dear Colorado Wine Club Member,

February is, for most wineries, a great time to reflect, plan and relax.  Not so at Talon Winery, where we are busily making ready for the traffic season here in the Grand Valley.  We’re getting comfortable with our new digs in Palisade as we get wines ready for bottling, change the gift offerings, clean and learn all we can about the place.  Keep your ears on for invitations to come and help bottle, as this is a top priority in the coming months.

2006 House Wine, Carlson Vineyards Laughing Cat

Another fun wine under a fun label from Parker and Mary Carlson.  We believe the joke is not obvious by the title line.  It should probably read:  Laughing CAT HOUSE Wine, although we cannot officially say that was their intended meaning.  Regardless, it’s a nice, easy-going, semi-sweet, light-bodied but over-hyphenated wine!  Please enjoy it with our warmest regards.

Blackberry Satin, Meadery of the Rockies

The Blackberry Satin is a fortified dessert wine made with Blackberries ‘n’ Honey wine, fortified with neutral grape spirits to 18.5% alcohol.  It’s got a sweet-tart, berry nose, a satin smooth mouthfeel, and a whole lot of flavor.  It’s best after dinner with friends who will be surprised and delighted by this unique libation.
