Dear Colorado Wine Club Member, So far it’s been a dry, warm start to the cold season. If this trend continues, it may spell trouble for vineyards. Dry, warm winters kill all sorts of plants in this area. Savvy growers will attempt to water the vines somehow. Don’t forget to put St. Kathryn Cellars and Meadery of the Rockies in your holiday shopping plans. We offer your wine club discounts at these locations also. Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! Enclosed are your Wine Club bottles. This month’s wines for the Sweet Colorado Wine Club are: 2007 Zero Below, Whitewater Hill You may have seen this one before. It’s one of our favorites. Nancy Janes has outdone herself with this one. This wine won a Double Gold at the 2008 Colorado Winefest and a Double Gold at the 2008 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. This rich and complex dessert wine was made with late harvest Chardonnay grapes. The grapes were pressed and frozen at 19 degrees below zero. It has flavors of orange zest, pineapple, and mango. Concord Grape Wine, Confre Cellars This wine is made from juicy and fruity Concord grapes. It is packed with flavor; violets and honeysuckle in the nose, smooth and rich in the mouth. It is perfect to take on picnics, but also try it for the holidays mixed with mulling spice. We are serving this at Confre Cellars. Stop in and try some. It is so good! Simmer in a crockpot and enjoy it with friends and family this winter. It will warm you right up. As always, enjoy the wines in good health! Truly,
Glenn & Natalie Foster |
