Dear Colorado Wine Club Member,

It’s Christmas, Chanukah, and the winter solstice.  Clearly it’s a special time of year!  With a fresh 5” of snow here in the Valley and maybe more on the way, it’s going to be a white and cold Christmas.  It’s a good time to offer up our sincere gratitude for you, our best customers.  We hope your holidays are filled with family, friends and good things to eat and drink.

Here are your Wine Club bottles.  This month’s wines for the Sweet Colorado Wine Club are:

2007 Riesling, Stoney Mesa Winery

This Riesling is grown on the Grand Mesa in Cedaredge, Colorado.  Winemaker Bret Neal gently de-stemmed and slowly pressed the grapes for optimal fruit structure and low bitterness extraction.  It was then cold fermented to achieve outstanding mouth feel and varietal character.  Look for abundant floral and stone fruit notes.  Serve with your favorite Mexican dish for a surprisingly tasty combination.

Cherry Wine, Carlson Vineyards

This wine is crafted from purely fresh-pressed juices from 100% Colorado grown Montmorency pie cherries.   This sweet-tart wine tastes like cherry pie without the crust.  This award-winning perennial favorite goes with smoked meats, glazed ham, or rich chocolate desserts.  For a real treat, serve with melted dark chocolate on the rim of the wineglass.

As always, enjoy the wines in good health!

Truly,

Glenn & Natalie Foster
