Dear Colorado Wine Club Member,

The leaves are turning, and the mornings are crisp.  Color Sunday was indeed colorful.  It’s clearly time to harvest some grapes!  Yes, it’s ripening season.  It’s been a cool growing season, so the grapes will be coming in behind schedule.  We’re still about 2 weeks behind a “normal” growing season.  With some luck and a nice Indian Summer, we’ll do just fine.

Enclosed are your Wine Club bottles.  This month’s wines for the Vintner’s Choice Colorado Wine Club are:

Riesling/Chardonnay, Mountain Spirit Winery

This unusual blend is mildly sweet, soft and silky.  The color is light yellow with a tinge of green.  It has flavors reminiscent of honeydew and pears.  You’ll want to serve this cold, about 40 degrees F, on a warm autumn afternoon . . . quick, before cold weather sets in!  This wine probably will not age very long, so do enjoy it soon.

Blueberry Bliss, St. Kathryn Cellars

This wine is made from 100% blueberry juice.  It is medium sweet with tons of blueberry flavors.  Try this one on your friends when you’re in the mood to surprise and delight.  It’s delicious by itself as a sipping wine.  It would also be a lot of fun over ice cream or as a Blue-tini.  Just use two parts Blueberry Bliss and one part ice cold vodka.  You can also blend it up with ice to make a Blueberry Slush.

As always, enjoy the wines in good health!

Sincerely,

Glenn & Natalie Foster
