Dear Colorado Wine Club Member, It’s Christmas, Chanukah, and the winter solstice. Clearly it’s a special time of year! With a fresh 5” of snow here in the Valley and maybe more on the way, it’s going to be a white and cold Christmas. It’s a good time to offer up our sincere gratitude for you, our best customers. We hope your holidays are filled with family, friends and good things to eat and drink.
Enclosed are your Wine Club bottles. This month’s wines for the Vintner’s Choice Colorado Wine Club are: 2006 Tyrannosaurus Red, Carlson Vineyards Tyrannosaurus Red is crafted from 100% Colorado grown Lemberger grapes, a German grape that thrives in our Rocky Mountain terroir. It is a dry, light to medium bodied red wine that is slightly oaked. Tyrannosaurus Red is named in honor of the dinosaur bones discovered locally in the early 1900s, which are on display in the Chicago Field Museum (Parker Carlson’s hometown). With hints of dark fruit, this spicy, black pepper, and earthy wine would make a great “spaghetti” wine. 2007 Zero Below, Whitewater Hill You may have seen this one before. It’s one of our favorites. Nancy Janes has outdone herself with this one. This wine won a Double Gold at the 2008 Colorado Winefest and a Double Gold at the 2008 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. This rich and complex dessert wine was made with late harvest Chardonnay grapes. The grapes were pressed and frozen at 19 degrees below zero. It has flavors of orange zest, pineapple, and mango. As always, enjoy the wines in good health! Sincerely,
Glenn & Natalie Foster |
